Touhou High School AU Stuffz

Nitori Kawashiro

Age: 18
Occupation: Student, 3rd Year
Personality: Nitori is a generally shy, quiet girl. She has a few friends she'll speak to on a regular basis, but other than that she's usually a loner. She's an exceptionally good student, and keeps some of the highest grades in the school. Her main skills however, lie in mathematics, science, and shop. She's always tinkering around with some new gadget or gizmo.

She's also fairly friendly. If someone new actually wants to approach her, she won't just flee from them. She'll be polite and say hi, then probably excuse herself. It's not that she doesn't like people, she's just shy. If she likes someone though, she'll even be a bit flustered around them. And she might slip notes containing the answers to all of last night's homework into their locker, but remain anonymous.

Background: Nitori's father was an auto-mechanic, and her mother was a secretary. This left the poor girl alone most of the time, leaving her to her own devices. She never had many friends, as someone had to watch the house, and most of the time that someone was Nitori, but she never really minded. Her love for inventing things came mostly from her father. He showed her how cars worked and brought her scraps from the shop, which she always managed to fashion into something else.

Throughout her earlier school days, Nitori excelled in nearly everything, as she continues to do now. Since she was a child, she'd always loved to swim, and was pretty good at it. She'd received numerous invitations to join the swim teams at her schools, but she was too shy to do that. Her parents decided to send her to Gensokyo's private school rather than a public school because not only was it supposed to be great, but there weren't as many students in it as a public school, and would be more fitting for Nitori.

And more fitting it was indeed. Nitori continued to excel in her classes, and became a favourite of many teachers. She made a few friends, and was actually kind of surprised by how nice some of the other students were. Too shy to become friends with everyone, she settled for secretly helping some of the ones she thought were really nice.

Miscellaneous:
- Always working on a new invention.
- Sometimes sells her spare gadgets and gizmos.
- Spends her free time swimming in a nearby river.
- Constantly sought after by the swim team.
- Gives away homework answers to those she likes.
- Occasionally spies on watches the other students.
- Has made several suggestions to the staff about creating a school store.
- Made upgrades for the newspaper club's equipment.
- Voted most likely to succeed after graduating.

Hina Kagiyama

Age: 32
Occupation: Guidance Counselor
Personality: Hina's a very kind, almost motherly woman. She's always looking out for the well being of others, whether it be a fellow teacher or a student. She can even be a little pushy about it if she feels they really need help. Her office is always open to others if they want to talk. Small-talk, discussing current issues in school, outside of school, general life advice, to cry, anything goes.

Unfortunately, most people steer clear of her like the plague. Hina has some...odd hobbies. She has a little bit of an obsession with occult-like stuff. Voodoo, curses, witchcraft, she's simply interested in it. She also has a ton of paper nagashi-bina dolls in her office, which she designed to look like students and her peers. Which comes off as totally creepy.

Background: Hina had always been an odd one. Rather than enjoying pretty fantasy stories with happy endings, she preferred gothic horror stories and other similar things. Her style of dress too, was rather different from the norm. Aside from her school uniform that she had to wear when she was a child, she always had her red ribbons. She'd always thought they were pretty. She never had many friends in school, because other students thought she was so strange. Because of this, Hina has always been somewhat lonely.

Even as an adult, Hina hasn't really changed all that much. She does however, do her best to help others in any way she can. Even if they do think she's odd or are frightened of her. She's given up trying to explain her hobbies, as most people just stop listening after some point. But for those who actually know her, know they couldn't ask for a better friend. And those that don't, if they have any inkling as to how nice she really is, would find it fairly easy to take advantage of her kindness.

Miscellaneous:
- Enjoys creepy things.
- Spends her free time painting.
- Loves to dance, especially if it involves spinning.
- Has little paper dolls that resemble the entire school staff and a good portion of the student body.
- Constantly performs little rituals to remove bad luck. Also collects charms that do the same.
- Nearly always smiling.
- Supports the Drama Club, and acts as an advisor of sorts.
- Always has tea ready for anyone who visits her office.
- Enjoys taking long walks through the nearby forest.

Nue Houjuu

Age: 17
Occupation: Student, 2nd Year
Personality: Nue is mischievous in nature, and always looking to spice things up. She can't stand being bored, and finds great amusement in pulling pranks on both teachers and other students alike. She doesn't leave enough evidence for them to prove it's her, either. She has a small group of friends, and seems to have a soft spot for one of the teachers.

She's also a fairly good actor, which has gotten members of the drama club seeking her out from time to time, but she refuses. Nue likes to do impressions and impersonations of people. Prank calls, especially. If you really get to know her though, she's not that bad. She's just really free spirited, and hates to get weighed down by unnecessary rules and all that mumbo jumbo.

Background: Nue was born into an abusive family. Her father was a drunk, and well, her mother was too afraid of him to do anything other than let him do whatever. Nue was constantly beat as a child, and when she was eight, decided to run away from home to get away from her family. She hated people due to the way she was treated.

She spent the next seven years living on the streets. Nue was a quick learner, and did whatever she had to in order to survive. Lying, fighting, stealing, she did it all. Just about everything short of selling her own body. She had at least some dignity. This continued until she met an older woman one day who took pity on the homeless teen.

Her name was Byakuren Hijiri, and she was a teacher at a private school. Too caring to let Nue continue with her lifestyle, she offered her a place to stay, and enrolled her in school. At first, Nue hated the school, and everyone in it, orchestrating cruel pranks on them all. Over time, and most of it spent with a small group of other teens who Byakuren sort of took care of, Nue became a bit more mellow. She's still mischievous, but her hatred has faded a great deal. She also feels she owes Byakuren a great debt for helping her.

Miscellaneous:
- Blackmails others into doing her homework.
- Spends her free time planning out pranks.
- Sleeps in class.
- Sneaks into the school after hours to mess with things. Like reorganizing files and looking at test answers/scores.
- Is great at impersonating/mimicking other people.
- Loves monster movies and slasher flicks.
- Drinks whenever she can get her hands on some alcohol.
- Voted as Most Likely to Become a Serial Killer.

Minoriko Aki

Age: 16
Occupation: Student, 1st Year
Personality: Minoriko is generally very cheerful, and always looking to make new friends. She's also known for lending a hand without question if someone asks her. She's fairly generous. Even if she's not in a particularly good mood for some reason or other, she tries to stay cheerful in front of others, just to keep up morale.

However, Minoriko hates laziness. Having grown up on a farm, spending nearly all day working, she sees no reason people shouldn't be able to get a little school work done. Compared to working the fields all day, a little writing or problem solving is child's play.

Background: Minoriko grew up on a farm. She spent the majority of her days working the fields or tending to other duties. She didn't mind at all. In fact, she enjoyed working hard, as it always yielded the best rewards. Especially the fall harvest. All the fruits and vegetables, the smells of all the seasonings and spices used in the fall, nothing really compared to it.

She retained average grades in school, and when she was enrolled in the Gensokyo private school, was quite enthusiastic. A new school with new people, she would work as hard as she did at home to do well, which made her very much likable to both teachers and students alike. She's always bringing in fruits and vegetables to share with her teachers and peers.

Miscellaneous:
- Runs the Gardening Club.
- Always offering to help others if they need it.
- Constantly sharing food.
- Makes her own perfume.
- Stronger than she looks due to a lot of physical labor.
- Retains fairly good grades, but highest is in Physical Education.
- Voted as one of the Most Athletic.

Yuyuko Saigyouji

Age: 28
Occupation: Teacher, Home Economics
Personality: Yuyuko is that teacher who never fails her students. She's nearly always calm, and likes to take her time doing things. Why rush something and get all worked up over it? Don't sweat the small stuff. This is how Yuyuko works. Most of the time, she just writes down the lesson plan for the day on the board and lets the students have at it. Rather than hold their hand through their work, she lets them do it on their own or with each other. In the real world, there isn't always going to be someone to lead you through everything, and she tries to prepare them for that.

Yuyuko gets along fairly well with everyone. Youmu is pretty much her teacher's pet, and she treats the girl well. Whenever she isn't working, she spends her time napping, hanging out with her fellow teachers, taking walks through the town, or just gazing off into the distance reminiscing about the past. While Yuyuko can come across as airheaded sometimes, she's actually quite intelligent. She just acts that way. She has a crush on Yukari, the art teacher, and has since they were best friends back in their own high school days.

Background: Yuyuko has always led a fairly good life. Born into a wealthy family, she's always had the best, and as such grew to be relatively lazy. Why did she need to do anything when there was always someone else to do it for her? So she spent the majority of her days napping, shopping, or watching others cook. (and taste testing of course.)

She did alright through school. Her grades were fairly average. She had a few friends, most notably Yukari Yakumo. She actually grew to have a crush on Yukari. They both spent a lot of time hanging out and slacking off. Unfortunately, Yukari just up and left right after they graduated, which nearly broke Yuyuko's heart.

Then Yuyuko went back to school to become a teacher. Surprisingly, she actually managed to get a degree and was hired back in Gensokyo as a home economics teacher. It didn't seem hard, and she could get students to cook for her! Sounded like a pretty sweet deal. Then something unexpected happened. It turned out that Yukari was returning to Gensokyo, and as a fellow teacher no less! This made her extremely happy, and of course she welcomed her friend back when she arrived. Now the two lazy teachers are back together and apparently both have feelings for the other.

Miscellaneous:
- Quite lazy.
- Loves food.
- Isn't a very great cook.
- Enjoys bad puns and corny jokes.
- Spends her free time walking around town or lazing around the school grounds.
- Never fails her students.
- Has a thing for Yukari.

Rumia Kurami

Age: 16
Occupation: Student, 1st Year
Personality: The first impression most people get is that Rumia is your average carefree ditz. Which is actually pretty spot-on. She's a fairly unremarkable student, who barely passes her classes. She does try to do her work, though. She's just too easily distracted. Her choices in friends are also detrimental to her education. A cluster of other idiotic first years, who she's known since before high school.

Although she generally seems happy, Rumia has some underlying medical and mental issues which come up from time to time. Nothing life-threatening or really dangerous, but they do interfere with her life occasionally. She really doesn't talk about them much, and will do her best to change the topic should someone mention them. Rumia suffers from dissociative identity disorder, and as such, has a split personality. There's her normal carefree self...and a darker, aggressive and cruel personality which seems to be awakened whenever someone angers her, she's badly injured, or touches her precious ribbon.

Rumia does have a like for darker things in general both in a physical and mental sense. In fact, she shies away from overly bright light or objects. Photophobia. Rumia was born sensitive to bright light. So rather than play outside with her friends like she wants to most of the time, she has to stay indoors unless it's a cloudy day or after sunset. Or unless she wears a pair of special goggles to protect her eyes. This is in addition to the special contact lenses she has to wear in order to just attend school. Even so, she doesn't let this keep her mood down too much. There's so many fun things to do at night!

Background: Rumia was born into an average family, and would have led an ordinary life were it not for her eyes being sensitive to light. Her childhood was full of many fun memories, games, and much laughter. Up until the traffic accident that crippled her father and claimed her mother's life. Rumia was physically unharmed by the accident, but was severely traumatized. When she was pulled out of the wreckage, she was covered in her mother's blood, and in her hand was the red ribbon her mother always wore.

It wasn't much longer after the accident that her father and some of her friends noticed some changes with her. While she still acted happy and carefree, there seemed to be something else there. Like she wanted to kill someone. There were actually a few cases where teachers had to forcibly remove her from other students because they tried to bully her. In each case, they'd either hurt her, mentioned her mother, or tried to steal her ribbon.

When she transferred into high school, most of the teachers were warned of Rumia's apparent split personality. With a watchful eye and making sure she was with her group of friends the majority of the time, no accidents have occurred as of yet.

Miscellaneous:
- She's pretty clumsy.
- Extremely ditzy.
- Loves horror/slasher flicks.
- Has a thing for the colors black and red.
- Likes to play at night. Especially when she can stalk people.
- Enjoys sour food the most.
- Spends some of her free time dancing.

Patchouli Knowledge

Age: 24
Occupation: Librarian
Personality: Patchouli is the calm, collected, no nonsense type. She's very studious, and is irritated very easily if she's disturbed. She never does anything proactively, and is reactive. She likes things to be planned out beforehand rather than spontaneous.

She very rarely leaves the confines of the school's library, and actually has a small dorm room attached to it. Having been diagnosed with several illnesses since she was a child, she does little traveling, and the shorter distance she has to go from home to work, the better. Not that sitting around in an enclosed space all day is exactly healthy for her. She doesn't care.

She spends the majority of her time doing research, unless required to do other tasks for some reason or another. Patchouli is generally quiet and softspoken, however, should you manage to anger her by disrupting her or damaging any library materials, her wrath is not something you want to face.

Background: Patchouli comes from a wealthy family of researchers who specialize in physics, attempting to determine the root of everything in existence. As such, Patchouli's upbringing was very lax when it came to parenting, leaving her to her own devices the majority of the time. Of that time, she spent nearly all of it reading, as she couldn't go outside like other kids. She was very ill as a child, being both asthmatic and suffering from a heart condition. This resulted in fairly poor social skills, as well as few friends. She does however have knowledge of proper etiquette from reading.

Her high school years were actually spent at the school where she now runs the library. The collection was simply too good to pass up, and it was unlikely that she would have found another suitable job. With her previous history at the school, along with a fair sum of money, she began her position as a librarian. Many students would find her to be a cold, dictator-like sort if they were unruly, but the few who were quiet and took care of the items they used in the library would sometimes catch a glimpse of a faint smile on Patchouli's face.

Miscellaneous:
-Favourite novels are Whodunits.
-Very frail.
-Can speak at least a dozen different languages.
-Drinks at least a pot of coffee a day.
-Sometimes falls asleep at her desk.
-Very strictly enforces being quiet in the library.
-Attempts strange experiments in her room at night.

Suwako Moriya

Age: 25
Occupation: Biology teacher
Personality: Suwako has always been somewhat of an odd sort. As a child, when most girls her age were busy learning how to be a proper lady, Suwako spent her time outdoors hiking, swimming, and collecting frogs and snakes. Even as an adult, not a whole lot has changed.

Well, she's a bit more mature now. Even so, Suwako's teaching methods are a bit unorthodox, often offering incentives to her students that do well, and has even been known to take bribes of gifts. She'll deny it, though. She's one of the more popular teachers simply due to the fact that she's still fairly young and she's still prone to acting like she's their age.

Suwako's also known for being a bit mischievous. It's not uncommon for her to make all sorts of wisecracks about the other teachers and even some of her students. Maybe even some playful flirting here and there. Or pranking. Although if confronted, she'll act completely innocent, and she'll get away with it most of the time.

Background: As stated before, Suwako led an unusual childhood, most of it spent outdoors. While other children spent their time studying or attending things, Suwako spent hers swimming and bringing home odd animals, much to the dismay of her family. Especially her relatively uptight stepsister, Kanako.

Somehow, Suwako managed to pull through high school and college with relative ease. When she really wants to get something done, she'll get it done. Even if she procrastinates from time to time. Throughout her schooling, she was constantly competing with Kanako to see who was better, but unfortunately, Suwako fell just short of her. She'd lost that battle, but then they both scored positions at Gensokyo Private School, where their competition could continue, except in a different way.

Rather than competing with scores, they competed with seeing who was the better teacher. Both with their own completely different classes. Suwako with biology, and Kanako with physics. This time, Suwako was determined to win, and it seems to be going pretty well so far. She's fairly well liked by the student body, although it can't be said the same for some of the teachers. She even offered to let one of her distant relatives stay with her. Sanae Kochiya, whom she dotes upon, but is just as likely to play jokes on her.

Miscellaneous:
-Has several pet frogs in her classroom.
-Has an entire separate desk for bribes gifts her students bring her.
-Can be pretty competitive.
-Brings her class outdoors on sunny days.
-Enjoys walks in the rain.
-Plays sounds of nature CDs in her classroom.
-Never goes anywhere without her trademark hat.

Lunasa Prismriver

Age: 18
Occupation: Student, 3rd Year
Personality: Lunasa's generally fairly quiet, and always seems to have a calm, laid back demeanor. It's a face she keeps up not only for herself, but her younger sisters as well. Lunasa would do anything for them, seeing as they're the only family they have left. She's the motherly figure of the three, checking up on them and making sure they're alright.

While she's usually laid back, Lunasa's pretty serious when it comes to her schoolwork and work in general. She gives it her all, and will set aside even her precious violin in order to finish her homework or other assignments. She won't settle for anything less than top scores, and she always gets them. She wants her sisters to be proud of her, as well as their deceased parents. She is however, rather pessimistic when it comes to herself. She always doubts that she's doing well, and thinks she always needs to improve herself.

One thing that stands out above the rest about Lunasa however, is her honesty. She never lies, not even if she should for some reason or another. But it's a double-edged sword. She's very trustworthy, but she won't lie to keep someone else's secret. As such, she should probably not be told if someone is planning a surprise party or something.

Background: Lunasa and her sisters were always good children, trying their best to do well and please their parents. However, when Lunasa was in middle school, their parents were killed in a car accident. From then on, it was up to her to take care of her younger sisters, and that she did. It was difficult to balance both school and home, but she managed it without complaint. She even managed to work in her own violin lessons. Her parents had always loved her skill with the instrument, and she wouldn't give it up.

She even took it upon herself to enroll herself and her sisters in a private school. The tuition was expensive, but there were on-site dormitories that they could take advantage of. The arrangement worked out fairly well, and they began attending Gensokyo Private School one after the other. Whenever she wasn't busy in class, looking after her sisters, or working on her assignments, she could be found in the music classroom, practicing her violin, even if the music club wasn't in session.

Miscellaneous:
-Has a major sweet tooth.
-Can't tell a lie.
-Fairly low self esteem.
-Has more than a dozen original violin compositions.
-Is a major teacher's pet.
-One of the more active music club members.
-She's never turned in an assignment late.

Lyrica Prismriver

Age: 16
Occupation: Student, 1st Year
Personality: At first glance, Lyrica is fairly shy. It just takes her a little time to get used to new people. It's not that she doesn't like others, she's just generally uncomfortable unless she knows you. She'll try even harder if you're a friend of one of her sisters though.

Once you get past that shyness, Lyrica is actually quite cheerful. She usually has a smile on her face, even when things are looking down, as she tries to find the bright side in everything. She's even been known to be a bit mischievous sometimes if she's in a really good mood. She's always looking up to her sisters, and doing her best to keep up with them so as not to tarnish their image. She does want to be known on her own one day however, and spends some of her free time working on original compositions like Lunasa.

Background: Lyrica and her sisters were always good children, trying their best to do well and please their parents. However, when Lyrica was in middle school, their parents were killed in a car accident. From then on, it was just herself and her sisters, doing everything they could to move on in life. She pushed herself even harder in school, and worked even harder to try and keep herself and her sisters happy, even in the face of tragedy.

When Lunasa enrolled them in Gensokyo Private School, Lyrica fully supported the idea. Moving into dormitories would cost a lot less than maintaining a full house, even with the massive fortune that their parents had left behind. It was best to save that for their future. Lyrica continued to do her best to excel both in school and at playing the keyboard as she attended school. And she even made a few new friends.

Miscellaneous:
-Can play nearly anything on her keyboard.
-Likes to make jokes.
-Will do anything for her sisters.
-Spends her free time playing the keyboard or napping.
-Loves movies with sing-alongs (ex. Disney)
-Enjoy hanging out with her friends.
-Works hard on her own musical compositions.
